2024 DPS President’s Award Recipient Announced

Delta Professional Services (DPS) is proud to announce that the recipient of this year’s prestigious DPS President’s Award is Mohammad Sadry.
This honor includes a presentation, a custom plaque, a limited edition DPS pin, and 50,000 Unstoppable Together points, equivalent to a $500 cash value. The award recognizes a team member who consistently exceeds their normal duties and embodies the core values of DPS.
2024 Award Recipient: Mohammad Sadry
Mohammad Alem Sadry joined DPS just over a year ago and has shown remarkable dedication and perseverance. Since his arrival, he has made significant contributions to the FAA Part 142 program in various capacities. Despite having no prior experience with the B757 aircraft, he has been teaching for New Pacific Airways, organizing and managing records for the ATP-CTP program, and providing crucial procedural upgrades for all our 142 instructor records. His solution-oriented approach has ensured our outstanding FAA compliance, making us the envy of all 142 programs in the US.
“The President’s Award is one of the best things we do at DPS,” said DPS President Marc Lippens. “This award is nominated by peers and selected by leadership and speaks to the heart of what makes DPS great; commitment, professionalism, and going the extra mile to provide great customer service. This year’s winner is a fine example of all of those things as well as someone that epitomizes the idea of continuing one’s aviation career. Congratulations, Mohammad and thank you for all you have done for DPS!”
Mohammad’s journey to DPS is a testament to his resilience. As an Afghan military Lieutenant Colonel and pilot, he was tasked with flying aircraft out of Kabul to safety before the US withdrawal in 2021. This mission led him to leave his homeland and family behind. After spending time at Moody Air Force Base in Valdosta, GA, he found an opportunity at DPS. With a pilot’s mindset, Mohammad embraced the challenge of becoming a Flight Training Pilot Instructor (FTPI) for our New Pacific Airlines (NPA) client. He taught himself the B757/767, an aircraft he had never flown before, and now actively teaches ground school to NPA’s new hires in Atlanta.
Mohammad has also standardized our instructor records, impacting around 14,000 files in our recent audit. He designed enhancements to our tracking process, ensuring the validity of instructor qualifications at DPS. Mohammad’s story of supporting the US military during the Afghan conflict and his subsequent journey to DPS highlights his incredible perseverance and resilience.
In his acceptance, Mohammad said, “Thank you for the award. It’s my pleasure, and it’s been my honor to work with DPS.”
“Mohammad has an unequalled work ethic which has been the catalyst for him to achieve successes this year, not only for himself but for DPS’ benefit as well. I feel incredibly lucky that he has joined our team to share his expertise with us in such immeasurable ways. We consider him part of OUR family while he waits patiently for the day HIS family can join him here.” Capt. Lori Cline (Ret) – Delta Aircrew Training Center and Compliance.
“I also want to congratulate our other nominees this year: Julio Duran-Canelo, Marty Stallings, and Rick Wetzel. These individuals were extremely worthy of this award and made this an exceedingly difficult decision. Thank you to these fitting examples of the DPS spirit!” – Marc Lippens, DPS President
2024 Award Nominees:
Richard (Rick) Wetzel: Rick serves as a B757/767 instructor for the Delta client and participates in the ATP-CTP program. He is a valuable instructor, utilizing his experience to provide the client experience that DPS desires. Rick also volunteers his time to provide demonstration simulator sessions for the DPS team and others as needed, conducted with professionalism and an element of fun to make the experience meaningful. Previously, Rick served as a Program Manager during DPS’s formative years and continues to display the DPS “Who,” making him worthy of consideration for the DPS President’s Award.
Marty Stallings: Marty’s passion is undeniable. He has rapidly become the on-the-ground lead for the JFK Tower program, helping establish the program and its value to both Delta and DPS. While working the tower, he continues to be an exceptional NSLI on the A330 fleet.
Julio Duran Canela: Julio has shown significant growth in his position as ATP-CTP Scheduler over the past year. His customer service with the instructor group exemplifies the great client experience DPS strives for. Julio also takes time out of his busy schedule to answer numerous questions from walk-in traffic and phone inquiries. Upon assuming his position, he proactively developed and organized a tracking spreadsheet and system to efficiently manage scheduling, demonstrating the DPS “Who” every day.”
The DPS President’s Award nomination process involves recommendations from program managers and peers, followed by a review by DPS leadership. This award continues the tradition of recognizing outstanding team members who embody the core values of Delta Professional Services, following the standard set by last year’s honoree and inaugural recipient, Carly Crockett.
