On February 14, 2024, Delta Professional Services (DPS) marked a significant milestone as it celebrated its 5th Anniversary and Founder’s Day at the Hilton Atlanta Airport. The event was a testament to the dedication and hard work of both the Founders and the entire DPS team since its inception on January 1, 2019.

Our “Founders” hold a special place within DPS, representing those who have been instrumental in shaping the company. They are the backbone of our organization, and their commitment and vision have been vital in driving DPS forward over the past five years.

The event began with opening remarks by Marc Lippens, DPS President – Delta Air Lines, followed by the first-ever showing of the “Celebrating 5 Years of DPS” video. (Watch the “Celebrating 5 Years of DPS” video here.) The video is a poignant tribute to DPS’s journey, featuring insights and reflections from company Founders. The video encapsulated the essence of our company’s evolution and growth over the past five years.

The program included a guest panel moderated by Marc Lippens that featured Ed Sternstein (Past President, DPS), Lakesia Franklin-Jones (HR Business Partner, DAL), and Larry Wexler (Managing Director & Associate General Counsel, DAL), all integral figures in DPS’s journey. Each panelist reflected on their role in taking DPS from an idea to a company, how things have changed, and what might be in store for DPS.

Another highlight was the recognition of DPS Founders by TJ Jackson (Vice President – Business Administration, DPS) and Bob Skinner (Vice President – Operations, DPS). Founders were presented with a limited edition commemorative coin, a 5-year service pin, and a champagne toast. This gesture underscored the deep appreciation DPS holds for its founding members and long-serving employees.

“This was a well-planned first-class event. As a Founder, I felt very honored by the attention given to us. The challenge coin and 5-year Pin were an amazing memento of the occasion and are greatly appreciated. I was also very happy that my spouse was invited to share in the moment.”

The celebration saw an impressive turnout, with over 125 attendees, including 53 Founders. Attendees praised the event for its inclusivity, warmth, and genuine camaraderie, highlighting the significance of coming together to honor DPS’s legacy and envision its future. “Great event, great food, and most of all surrounded by great people,” said another attendee. “All of the DPS instructors and all of the DPS operational and administrative support.” The dessert giveaway, created by DPS staff member Varick Brown, added a sweet touch to the evening.

The event would not have been possible without the diligent efforts of the Delta Professional Services staff, who meticulously planned and executed every aspect of the celebration. Their dedication and hard work ensured the afternoon was a resounding success, leaving a lasting impression on attendees. “An opportunity to appreciate all the work that went into establishing DPS, updates on the successes, reuniting with team members, and hearing plans for the future,” said one guest. “I loved the video and the panel discussion. Great way to present all the information. Very well done.”
